Boise State Women's Golf had two student-athletes named All-American Scholars by the women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
- Nicole Suppelsa and Lexi Perry were each named All-American Scholars.
- This is the second-straight such honor in as many seasons with the Broncos for each of the sophomores.
- In order to be named a WGCA All-American Scholar, one of the most stringent academic awards in collegiate athletics, individuals must carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.
- During the 2018-19 season, Perry appeared in each of the Broncos’ tournaments, registering six top-25 finishes. Suppelsa made 10 appearances, earning three top 10s and a top 25.
- Earlier this season the women’s golf team received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for having a multi-year Academic Progress Rate in the top-10 percent nationally among women’s golf programs. It was the sixth-straight season earning the accolade, the longest streak for any of the Broncos’ athletic programs.
Boise State Men's Basketball head coach Leon Rice announced the hiring of R-Jay Barsh as an assistant coach, Tuesday.
- Barsh spent the last seven seasons as the head coach at Southeastern University (NAIA) in Lakeland, Fla.
- While with SEU, Barsh led the Fire to three NAIA Division II National Tournament appearances, the first for the program in school history. In his second season, SEU went 27-7 and reached the NAIA Fab Four during its first postseason tournament run, ultimately earning Barsh a nod as a finalist for the Don Meyer National Coach of the Year Award.
- Barsh also led the Fire to tournament appearances following the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
- Barsh also served as an assistant coach at the University of Puget Sound, his alma mater, from 2005-07. In his first season with the Loggers, the program finished with a 26-5 mark and an NCAA D-III Elite Eight appearance.
