Music Exec Jeremy Geffen Died Of Accidental Overdose, Coroner Reports
LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Music exec Jeremy Geffen, died of an accidental overdose, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The 40-year-old Geffen, no relation to music exec David Geffen, was found dead at his Beverly HIlls home Aug. 22. The coroner ruled Geffen died of a lethal combination of drugs including cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to The Blast. The announcement comes 48 hours after it was disclosed that Mac Miller died of a fatal combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.
Geffen, no relation to music exec David Geffen, was president and CEO of Creative Rights Group, which was created to “help songwriters recapture and monetize their fights and ensure their legacies,” according to Billboard. He was also manager to d12, Bone Thugs ‘n Harmony, Three 6 Mafia and production team Trackboyz at his management firm, Jeremy Geffen Management. He was previously general manager of Creative Management Group and a partner at Wright Entertainment.
He sold his management firm to Sanctuary Group then regained ownership, renaming it Geffen Management Group where he repped performers like Jacob Latimore and the estate for Marvin Gaye. His mother is press and marketing exec Jo-Ann Geffen of JAG Entertainment PR.
Geffen was close friends with “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Scott Disick and helped Disick seek treatment for substance abuse.
