Kayla Itsines in Bathing Suit Says "This is an Awesome Journey" Celebwell
Kayla Itsines is a personal trainer and successful fitness influencer. She's currently expecting her first child, and recently asked her followers on Instagram what they wanted to know about her journey. In a recent post, Itsines posed in the water in a bikini. She captioned it, "Question. What parts of my post pregnancy journey do you want to see? Be honest, no wrong answers! Do you want me to just go back to posting my usual training routine? Do you want to see my recovery? Do you want me to share the foods I am eating? Let me know. Also, for the people who are not even thinking about pregnancy right now, I think my journey is still interesting in a different way. My birth will be a cesarean, so this means an actual surgery. Now why is this interesting for you? .. because it's also content you can use if you are injured, a beginner, never worked out before or returning to fitness after a while. The workouts (when appropriate and cleared by my doctor) will be lower intensity and ill slowly be building back up to how I used to train! I think this is an awesome journey to all go through together – post pregnant or not." How does she stay so fit? Itsines believes in eating a healthy diet. However, she also believes in eating some indulgences and having a balance. "My philosophy on food is really simple," she tells Greek City Times. "I believe in having a healthy balanced diet, the food you eat should make you feel good, it shouldn't feel like a chore to make it or eat it, and you should eat the foods you enjoy."
Itsines revealed her workout routine to Vogue. She says that she works out on a regular basis. "My BBG program consists of three resistance workouts per week which I normally schedule on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. With my current schedule, working out at 7:30pm at night has been working best for me, as Arna has gone to sleep and my family is around to watch over her, so I know I can get 28-minutes in without being interrupted. I've also been aiming for four to five LISS (low-intensity steady state cardio) sessions per week which I'll often do first thing in the morning on my treadmill at home before Arna wakes up."
Itsines revealed her typical meals to Vogue, and she eats pretty healthy. "Breakfast – two pieces of toast with olive oil, eggs (if I feel like them), tomato, olives, basil, roast capsicum and a Turkish coffee. Snack – seasonal fruit or a Greek biscuit that my Yiayia (grandma) makes. Lunch – some sort of protein with salad and rice or sushi. Snack – coffee and anything I can find that's easy and fast like crackers with tomato and tuna or veggie sticks with homemade hummus. Dinner – meat with salad and some sort of bread, rice or pasta. Drinks – lots of water and sometimes I'll have a herbal tea before bed."
When it comes to workouts, Itsines tells Vogue that she is open to all of them. "Fitness is such a big part of my life and I truly love what I do, so I don't think there is any exercise that I wouldn't try," she says. "I think as women, we don't realise how strong we really are and sometimes trying something new is a great way to build confidence, even if you don't nail it the first time round."
Itsines tells Vogue that she makes sure to keep her workouts varied. She admits that she doesn't like everything she does, but is willing to do them anyway. "Like anybody, there are some exercises that I don't love," she says. "But I understand how they benefit my body and workout, so I'll push through instead of avoiding them."
