Gowen Thunder Airshow unveils parking guidelines and event details for upcoming event
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Gowen Thunder Airshow released directions and parking information for this year's event.
Guests attending are asked to carpool with friends and family and limit personal belongings as much as possible to save space on the shuffles.
More than 25,000 parking spaces are available. RVs and any other vehicles longer than 20 will be turned away. Buses will begin running at 8:45 a.m. to shuttle you into the show. The expected wait time to catch a shuttle from any parking lot into the show should be no more than 20 minutes and could likely be less.
ADA parking will be available on Gowen Field. Vehicles with valid placards will be allowed to enter through the Main Entry on General Manning Avenue and directed to special parking areas. Assistance will be available for those needing a ride from the ADA parking areas to the show entrance.
Access to businesses near Gowen Field may be impacted during the event. Tailgating in parking areas or viewing gatherings near the Airshow is strictly prohibited.
A security screening will be conducted at all parking lots before entry to the show.
No personal firearms are allowed on Gowen Field.
Parking lots open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, and Sunday, Aug. 27, at 4775 S. Ingalls St. in Boise. Gates open at 9 a.m., and opening ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m.
