After a poor start to the league in the 2020/21 season, Chelsea was inspired by Thomas Tuchel’s tactics and the club went on to win the Champions League title in Porto. This all happened without a proper striker. Ahead of the 2021/22 season, here is the list of Chelsea’s top goalscorers across two decades of the English Premier League.
After a poor outing for the strikers in the 2020/21 season, Chelsea is rumored to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in a record-breaking deal for the Belgian striker. Romelu Lukaku was the key player for Antonio Conte’s aspirations in Serie A. He was also the top goalscorer for Inter in the 2020/21 season.

Chelsea’s top goalscorers – A story!
In the first-ever season of the English Premier League era, Graham Stuart and Mick Harford shared the top place with nine goals apiece. However, Graham Stuart played 39 games, whereas Mick Harford featured only in 28.
In the 1993/94 season, Mark Stein topped the charts for Chelsea with 13 goals from 18 games. In the subsequent seasons, John Spencer was the top goalscorer for Chelsea, with 11 and 13 goals apiece in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons. During the 1996/97 season, the Italian Gianluca Vialli was the center of attention for Chelsea fans. He had scored nine goals from 28 games.
From 1996/97 onwards, it is safe to assume that there was healthy competition between Gianluca Vialli, Gustavo Poyet, Gianfranco Zola, and Tore Andre Flo. All four attackers were trying to outlast each other. In the 1999/00 season, Tore Andre Flo and Gustavo Poyet shared the spoils as both scored ten goals for the outfit.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink rose to the occasion for Chelsea before the arrival of Jose Mourinho. He clocked 23 goals in the 2000/01 and 2001/02 seasons to help the side finish high in the English top flight. Later came the Frank Lampard era. The talismanic midfielder went on to be the top goalscorer for Chelsea on four different occasions. He scored 10+ goals in the English top flight whenever he topped the charts for Chelsea.
Eden Hazard was pivotal in Chelsea’s aspirations. He was the top goalscorer for Chelsea on three different occasions. Hazard also topped the list for Chelsea in the season he departed to Real Madrid. He then scored 12 and 16 goals in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons before moving to Santiago Bernabeu.
The 2020/21 season was bizarre for the London-based outfit. The top goalscorer for Chelsea was Jorginho, the defensive midfielder. He scored seven goals in the English top flight, the highest by any player for Chelseathat season.
